# Frequency control

Introduction
Frequencies (and the inverse Time reference) are needed almost everywhere in analog and digital electronic applications. Different technologies have been developed in the history of electronics to obtain more and more accurate time references and , in fact, frequency/time reference is the physical entity , that We can produce and measure with highest accuracy (up to 1E-15 by means of atomic clocks). Some of those technologies have limited applications or just research purpose, some others have meet in the industry a lot of application fields; it is the case of Piezo Quartz Crystal, MEMS, Piezo Ceramic, SAW technologies widely used in telecomm, microelectronics, metering, automotive, wireless, house appliances and so on.
